welcome chayenne!

I’m really excited to announce that Chayenne van den Hazel has joined as my Assistant Music Supervisor.

Chayenne has been singing and playing instruments and in bands since she was 9 years old and (still) loves going to concerts. When deciding what she wanted to study, music was the obvious choice. However, instead of going to a Conservatorium, she decided to study Musicology at the University of Amsterdam. She broadened her knowledge about music: theoretically, historically and culturally. But what she was especially interested in was the cognitive side of music: how is music processed in the brain, what happens when we listen to music and what can we use that for? She completed her study with a thesis on the function of music in TV commercials.

At university Chayenne was treasurer and part of the travel committee of the music student association for two years. After she got her Bachelors degree in Musicology she decided not to do a Master study straight away, but take some time to really get into the music business. She did two consecutive internships: one at Tribe Management and at CTM Publishing as Sync & Creative intern, whilst simultaneously following the Music Business course at SAE Amsterdam. The second internship opened a whole new world for her: the world of music in film and series. A world that she, without even realising it, has always been interested in. This is where we first met and I had the chance to tell her about what I do as a Music Supervisor.

For Chayenne, music supervision is the perfect place to combine her passion for and knowledge of music and her interest in the cognitive aspects of music, with her love for moving image. Her attention to detail, love for music and “get the job done” attitude, was just what I was looking for.

Thank you for joining me Chayenne. Cheers to many many adventures together!
